If you have your Bluetooth icon missing from your notification area in Windows 10, 8 and 7 this post will guide you on how you can reinstate it.

Bluetooth tethering is one of my most preferred ways of connecting my computer to the internet.

To get that working, the Bluetooth icon on the computer must be available in the notification area of the computer taskbar so I can easily join a network and start browsing.

Well, my Bluetooth icon has always been in the notification area until it disappeared when I tried bringing it to the taskbar for a more faster access.

That when too good turned too bad.

I had to navigate around my computer to get my Bluetooth missing icon from the notification area back for quick access.

Now that I was able to find out how to get back a missing Bluetooth icon from the notification center, I can’t just keep that to myself but also share it here with you.

Here are the steps to follow:

Please make sure that your Bluetooth driver is not uninstalled from your computer. Let it not be that the icon is missing because the program must have been uninstalled.

You can check your control panel programs section to confirm if the Bluetooth driver is still installed on your computer.

Now that you are sure that the driver is still installed, let’s get to the tutorial proper.

This guide works for Windows users on Windows 10, 8, and 7 since we will be using the control panel to reinstate our missing Bluetooth icon from the notification area.

Navigate to your system control panel.

Here is how to find the control panel in Windows 10. Finding it in other older Windows versions is pretty similar.

Bluetooth icon missing in Windows 10, 8, 7 fix

Once you get to the control panel, switch to Large icons to easily locate “Devices and printers” option.

Now you will be shown the devices and printers that have been added to your computer, choose the corresponding device name and you will be taken to the Bluetooth interface that is controlling it.

Double tap on the corresponding device name to open the Bluetooth driver interface.

Check on Bluetooth setting from the interface.

The graphical design may vary depending on the Bluetooth driver that you have installed on your computer.

Tap on the “Open Bluetooth settings” on the interface.

You may find a different thing from my own, but for sure; you will have a setting button within the app interface.

Another box showed now pop for you to make the final set to bring back your missing icons in windows 10, 8 and 7 icons.

Switch to the first column of the blog “Options”

Tick on the last checkbox on the page to get your icon back to it.

Now you have the Bluetooth icon back to the windows notification area.
